Revision as of 00:01, 1 November 2010

Plane condition is a feature introduced in Skyrates 2.5. It is a number that starts at 100%, and decreases all the way to 0% over time. Most typical activities will reduce condition, such as trading, fighting manual or auto-resolved combats, taking missions [verify me] and landing/taking off. The rate of reduction is not equal across activities, and can be slowed overall by hiring Mechanics or levels in Perception. As condition drops, you will receive negative effects starting at 89%, receiving one additional effect every 10% below 89%. At 0% you will receive 2 conditions [verify me] per day. Currently conditions you receive are randomly chosen.

Servicing

Service may be performed at any skyland by adding the action to your queue. Servicing restores plane condition to 100%, removing your condition effects and turns negative effects into random positive ones, to a maximum of 5 positive effects. Since servicing simply removes all effects, positive and negative, servicing twice in a row is not beneficial. Positive effects are lost one by one as you gain negative effects (negative effects will still accumulate as above)

Service Time

To calculate the amount of time your service will take, multiply your plane's Tier by 30 minutes and add 45 minutes. Example: Bullfrog (T6) service time is 6*30+45 = 225 minutes or 3hr 45min (3:45).

Condition Effects

Plane Condition Effects are positive or negative modifiers that apply to your plane, depending on your plane's Condition. For every 10% of Condition drop your plane experiences, a negative Condition Effect is added. After a plane has been serviced, you can gain good effects dependent on the number of bad effects; one for every bad effect up to a maximum of five. The buffs go away one by one at random as new condition effects build up. These 'buffs' are random, rather than dependent upon the bad effects you had prior to servicing. Condition effects that change plane stats only count against your plane's base stat in that area, ignoring upgrades and skills. Condition effects are also not cumulative and ignore any change less than a full point, so if you have 16 Armor Class and 5 -10% Armor Class effects, each will subtract only one point, yielding an Armor Class of 11, instead of 8.
