Reportedly, the Leadership Skill helps keep Crew happy after loosing a Combat, lowers their daily wages and may even increase how quickly Crew Members gain experience.
Skyrate Mercury's opinion: Leadership isn't cost-effective right now (10th Nov '07). Even though both the parent skills now work (or Trade Prestige will once missions are back in the game), the drop in crew wages is so small as to make leadership almost useless. It's not even worth taking one level in this at present, until you get to the point where those numbers of FP and TP mean nothing to you any more.
