A project first announced in 201 AU by G.C. Hoover, head of Hoover Heavy Industries, the Mantis is a dual-wing, dual-engine aircraft designed to be the ultimate upgrade machine. Its development focused on creating a craft that could be modified to be whatever its owner wished. The plane is produced exclusively on Gonk and is sold to whoever can match the somewhat hefty price tag. The first models rolled off assembly lines in 202 AU.[1]
Thinking of getting a Mantis? Don't. It may have lots of speed and decent guns, but it's ridiculous size and silhouette make it an awful performance plane as it is far too easy to hit. Avoid it at all costs.
